Dafne is an operations expert, fractional integrator, and passionate entrepreneur who takes ideas from the back of the napkin to their fullest potential. Launch Point was one of those ideas. Born from a double-date conversation over Italian food as her friend shared his company woes, Dafne recognized that each of the problems in her friend’s business was 100% solvable. Dafne’s experience working with organizations from start-up to expansion means she knows instinctually 1) how to identify the problem and 2) how to solve it.
While working at Colorado-based company Perky Jerky before collecting her BA in Business Management from Metro State in Denver, Dafne went from website and social media manager to heading seven departments within the company. She then ran the backend of her husband’s entrepreneurial adventure, and from that moment forward, she was hooked on growth. Now, she’s sharing that passion with small to midsize companies around the globe. Launch Point is founded in this same spirit of optimization and forward momentum.
During those rare moments when Dafne isn’t working with organizations to reach their potential, you can find her reminiscing about her backup dancer days on the Swedish singing contest TV show Little Stars, laughing at her own jokes or having dance parties in the kitchen with her family. She wants to show her two daughters that anything is possible. Because it is.
My favorite part of our work is how people-driven we are: I love coaching leaders, recruiting, and developing team-oriented documentation, including hiring strategies, KPIs, job descriptions, and performance-related tools. I’m fulfilled when working with leaders and team members to develop their own awareness and see their own blindspots. When Launch Point has a hand in creating an “Ah ha!” moment with a client or celebrating a win, there’s no better moment. Because I love words and the power of language, writing and developing a client’s style and tone appeals to my creative flow. I’m a dog Mom and an amateur plant Mom; I love green things and can often be found walking into the house with a new plant the same way a kid might come home with a found animal to care for.
Helping microentrepreneurs organize themselves through fractional operations is both valuable and satisfying for me. I enjoy learning about clients’ existing processes, and finding out where we can improve features or settings in their existing technology that, with small tweaks, can significantly improve the tools’ performance. For one client, we were able to configure a Jobber account to include forms and checklists to amplify the clarity of their process, removing external management software requirements. For another, we turned on a project management software labs feature to show a project summary, enabling more efficient data recording and management at a glance. As a cancer survivor and wheelchair user, for me, it’s all about adaptability, creativity and improvement. You’ll see my latest art project in my Zoom background, and my kitty Slater joins in on the most important meetings.
My favorite part of the work I do at Launch Point is any time I can be creative with the products we deliver – thankfully, this ends up being the majority of our time! I derive joy from being free to create a visual that I’ve envisioned, so I love producing visual material for clients, such as flow charts or examples of clients’ processes, both current and future state. I live for that moment when everything “clicks” – when we have sorted through the good and the bad, and finally find that sense of relief when there is a clear path ahead. This makes all the hard work worth it. My husband and I met as tour guides working in the largest single brewery in the world, Coors Brewery in Golden, Colorado! We now live in the 3rd coldest town in Colorado, and I ski as much as possible every winter!
I love finding creative solutions for unique business purposes, and making technology work for the unique challenges clients face. I enjoy functional configuration and implementation; I feel I can translate technical terminology and make things easier to understand for non-technical users. While I enjoy following the logic of technology, and I enjoy trying and learning many new things in both my personal and professional life…baking and I do not get along.
I am a process gal at heart, so I love iterating within projects with our clients; refining workflows and creating copy for SOPs are just a few examples. It is so special when a client can end an engagement with us, then go back into the market and continue to capitalize on the new-found efficiencies and processes we helped create. I have a lot of admiration for entrepreneurs, and love helping them bring to life the processes and vision that clients have had living inside their brains for the last X years! This work not only presents challenges and bottlenecks to work through but also the opportunity to learn about what works for them and makes them unique within their industry vertical. I am a Minnesota native who becomes a digital nomad during the winter months, so you will likely see me with different Zoom backgrounds often!
